N.S.W. ELECTIONS.
TO BE HELD BEFORE MARCH 20 MR. McOIRR STANDS DOWN. (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The caucus adopted a resolution that tho elections .should take place not later than March 20. Mr. J. J. McGirr (Minister of Labour) notified the party that he would not be a candidate at tbe general elections, as he was tuming ( his attention to Federal politics.— (A. and 5.7.. Cable.) The Cabinet decided to put into immediate operation the clause of the new Electoral Act providing for compulsory enrolment. The new taxation proposals provide for the abolition of the supertax.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
