Edith Adelaide - I'ownell pleaded guilty to drunkenness, and acknowledged having boon five times before the ( ourt for that offence within *ix months. She begged for a chanc to 'go to Wellington to-night with my sister ; hut as c llP i s a i waya ab(m ' t to go somewhere when she appears before the Court, and has been °iven innumerable chances which she refused to avail herself of. she was convicted for the thirty-third occasion and *ent to gaol for fourteen days. The woman was only released from prison on Saturday last.
