The death occurred at his residence in ! Walton yesterday. of the Hon. William ! Wilson McCardle, lately a member of , the Legislative Council, aged TS. De-' ceased was for many years a resident' of Pahiatua, where he commenced in husi- | ness in 1891. His body will be interred in the Pahiatua cemetery. j • i

The death is announced at Dunedin of | Mr. .lames McCahon. who was for many years in business in Timaru. He is stir- ! vived by his widow and seven children, six of whom are daughters. Of the latter , Mrs. Stephen Roper, of Dargaville. i* a qualified physician. !
