N.S.W. ELECTIONS.
MR. HOI-MAN DEFEATED. (Received 10 a.Jn.l SYDNEY, this day. - Mr. W. A. Hqlman, Prime Minister of New South Wales, has been definitely defeated at the State election for Cootamundra. Speaking at a meeting of the Labour party in the Domain, Mr. Dunn announced that the Labour party would on no. account join hands with the Progressives or any other party. The political situation in New South Wales is still indefinite. The Government clings to the hope that an antiLabour majority will enable it to carry on. It intends to meet Parliament unless Labour r .Becures a direct majority. Labour circles believe that they will get a majority of two or three, and are busy speculating on their Ministry.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
