Y.M.C.A.'S WAR WORK.
■ SIR D. HAIG'S APPRECIATION. Sir Douglas Haig has sent the following letter of appreciation to the British Y.M.CA..:— "The conclusion of my period of command in France provides a fitting occasion on which to renew the warm expression of my gratitude to the Y.M.CA. for the splendid work carried out by' their organisation during more than four years among the troops serving under mc. No difficulties or dangers have been too great for them to overcome in their endeavours to provide for the comfort, enterainment and recreation of the ; men. The value of their work has been i inestimable, and I feel confident that it i has been deeply appreciated by all ranks. i Now that active hostilities are at an end and the bulk of our armies have re--1 turned, or are returning, home. I hope that the activities of the V.M.C.A. will not cease, but that fresh fields may be found for their utility, and that they t | will meet with the public support tc . which their past record entitles them.*
