TECHNICAL SCHOOLS.
TEACHERS FORM ASSOCIATION.
{By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHOtCH, Tuesday. At a meeting held here, a New Zealand Technical School Teachers' Association was formed, with power to register under the Education Act, and so come under the teachers' court of appeal, fourteen delegates were present, and all the technical day-schools, except Dune din and Wellington, were represented. The constitution adopted provides that members must belong to a local association and must be engaged for 20 hours at least teaching or supervising or giving instruction under the manual *nd technical regulations. The executive must consist of president, vicepresident, secretary, treasurer, and four others, ana at least two must toe -women. Kct more than one director may have a seat on the executive. The annual general meeting will take place in January of each year. Each association will be allowed' one vote for every four member?.
The objects of the association include tlie promotion of exchanges of teaching schemes, and the bringing together of teachers of the same subjects at different technical schools.
The following officers were elected:— President. Mr. I. E. Xevrton, M.A., ChristehuTch: vice-president, Mr. A. D. "Trenddll. A.8.1.C.C., Auckland; secretary, Mr. G. J. Park. B. Com., Christchurch ; executive. Hisses Wilson, M-A-, Invereargill. and Little. Dunedin, and Messrs. R. Thompson, Auckland, W. A. &nnour. M.A.. M.Sc, Wanganui; auditor, Mr. X. Goldsbury, A.I-A.X.Z., Ciristehurch. It has been decided to endeavour to arrange a conference of secondary schools teachers in connection with the forthcomin? election of the Council of Eduf.itiou.
