CHRISTCHUROH, Tuesday. The band contest was continued this afternoon. Uesults:—
B Flat Cornet Solo.—H. Osborne (Timaru Regimental), 93 marks. I; Kerr (Weatport Garrison), !)0, 2; S. Williams (Woolston), SB. 3. There were 17 competitors.
Champion Cornet Solo.—H. Fox (ChrUtchurch), 1; H. Osbornc (Timaru). 2; A. J. Barrymaii (Palmerstou Xorth), 3.
B Grade Contest.—Test Selection: City Band (Xapier), 173 marks, 1; G.Y.C. (Christehurch), ICG, 2.
To-morrow evening the second portion of the A Grade contest will be taken, and the judge's award will be announced.
