MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.

Mr J. Teet presided n-t the meeting of rho. Mt. Roskill lioad Board which was bold last night. Belgian Relief Fund.—ln answer to a circular from .Mr K. Hums, Acting-Consul for Belgium, asking the Board 'to endeavour to raise £130 in the Mt. Itosklll district towards the purchase of the LJndauer collection of .Maori pictures. It was decided to canvass -the district for that purpose. The Board will meet next Saturday In committee to arrange a plan of campaign. The amount to be contributed by the Board will be decided later.

•St. John Ambulance Association.—A request from the St. John AmTiulance Association for permission to take up a collection in Mt. Uoskill was deferred for consideration until the next meeting. Petition.—A petition was received from property owners In the Islington Estate for road repairs and a new footpath. The Board decided to do the work.

Greenwood's Corner.—The One-tree Hill RoaU Board wants to provide sanitary conveniences at Greenwood's Corner, and also to have the shelter shed better lighted during Mic day. Accordingly a letter -was received by tiie Mt. Roskill Road Board last night asking it to consent to the former to the extciit of bearing oue-third of the cost. The Board decided to nsk for fuxthpr information as to the -probable <-ost of the proposed works and their situation. As the shelter shed is qu.ttc open at t.lic entrance, the Board did not think more light was necessary.

Where Six Koads Meet.—The question of getting the sharp angles removed on the Maunknii Itoad near the Snddon Memorial came up for discussion though a letter received from the One-tree Hill Road Board asking for Hie co-operation of Mt. Iloskill district. The chairman, who was authorised to confer with the chairmen of the other districts interested, expressed Hie opinion that to jrive effect to the proposal would cost somebody a considerable sum of money.
