Much anxiety was felt in Karangahake on Tliursdaj when it, became known that ;Mr. Searlej-sen.. a.well-knpwn resident, who had gone for a walk, had not re-, turned Koine. A search party was instituted, but they were unsuccessful in finding the whereabouts of the missing man up to 2 a.m., and returned: home. The search resumed early yesterday morning, when, the party, were delighted to meet Mr. Searle on his way home. It transpired that, whilst on the wfiy. Jto. the trig station, 'Mr. Searle missed the .track, and got hopelessly lost ..in .the. bush. He wandered about some'hours, and, darkness -setting, -in. decided to make (himself as comfortable as "possible in the circumstances.
