FOR THE HOSPITAL.
BIG DEMONSTRATION TO-MORROW.
A "Hospital Saturday" is not among the mediums provided in Auckland for public contributions towards worthy objects, but there is an equally important, movement known as the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary Fund. The energetic organisers thereof have arranged a big demonstration for to-morrow afternoon at the Domain Cricket Ground. There will be an unusual musical display by massed bands, as well as a big turnout of friendly society members in regalia, fire brigadesmen, members of the Territorial force, cadet companies, etc. The function has been organised in the hope that citizens will he present .in large numbers, and that they will donate whatever they can afford towards the Hospital Auxiliary Fund. Given fine weather, the hope will doubtless be fulfilled,
There will be processions from various parts of the city to the Domain grounds, of which the largest will pro-* •bably be that of the friendly societies. Thi3 will leave Karangahape Road (opposite the Bank of New Zealand), at 2 -p.m., and proceed, with two bands, via Graftou Bridge, to the general rendezvous. The united fire brigades .will gather at the top of Beresford Street, and they also 'will have band accompaniment. All of the Auckland hands are expected to participate in the demonstration. ' The Third Mounted Rifles Band is to do its share by playing at Albert Park, in aid of the Hospital fund. Foresters are to assemble at the Foresters' Hall, Newton, at 2 p.m., and members of the national Independent Order of Oddfellows will meet at the Orange Hall, Karangahape Road, at the same hour. The Central Mission Band will meet at the Grey Statue, and will play a selection, and will then march to the Cricket Ground, via Upper Queen Street and the Grafton Bridge. The Onehunga Brass Band will play on the Newmarket triangle, and then march along Carlton Gore Road to the Domain" Cricket Ground.
