ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
m WARRANT FOR DARGAVILLE CLERK. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, this day. A warrant is out for the arrest of Kenneth Upton Duncan, chief clerk of the Wairoa Stores, Ltd., Dargaville, on a charge of embezzlement. The defalcations are stated to be considerable. Duncan left for a few days' holiday a fort- ' night ago, and, as he had not returned, investigations were made and these, it is stated, sihowed that there was £100 short in one bank deposit, and other heavy shortages. The annual audit is proceeding. Duncan's wife and child are with him.
