THE PREMIER AND THE HUNTLY DEPUTATION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In reference to a Press Association message sent out to-day detailing the happenings at an interview with the Premier fey some of the Huntly Socialists and Mr Robertson, M.P. for Otaki, I wish to make clear to the public that the references made to my sending a telegram saying that the Prime Minister was "pushing through" the registration of the arbitration union at Huntly are Socialist fabrications. If airy each telegram is iri existence it is fraudulent, and I have a very strong suspicion that some fraudulent wires purporting to come from mc were sent. The only wire ever sent by the 'Premier was in reply to a telegraphic inquiry from myself to the Minister for Labour. My inquiry was as to reason for delay in receiving information from Labour Department as to acceptance or otherwise of application for registration, the reply being, "Am informed by Registrar that the registration of the Huntly Coalmine Employees' Union will probably be effected on Thursday or Friday next." This telegram appeared in the daily press of October 31. The Premier is probably able to defend himself, but I would respectfully ask the scandalous fabrications by the Socialists concerning myself be given an emphatic denial.—l am, etc.. ' THOMAS WALSH. 108, Albert Str«et, City, Much 7, 1913. J
