AMBULANCE SATURDAY.
A meeting of the Ambulance Saturday Ladies' Committee was held in the office of the St. John Ambulance Association yesterday afternoon, Mrs C. J. Parr presiding over a fair attendance.
The honorary secretary, Mrs Rattray, read a letter from her Excellency tie Countess of Liverpocd, stating that she consented to become patroness of the Ambulance Saturday Ladies' Committee.
A financial statement by the honorary [ secretary showed that the Society's assets are £3,140, while the cost of the new ambulance station and waggon would be £4,640. It was therefore necessary to raise a sum of £1,500. It was decided to take a street collection throughout the city and suburbs on Saturday, April 19. Following is a list of -helpers and the stations allotted them:—Queen Street tram terminus, ferry tees, and railway station, Misb McLeod; Customs Street Ea6t and West, Miss Edmiston and Mrs Burt; Shortland Street, Mrs Benjamin; Wellesley Street East and West, Mrs Pilkington; Grafton Bridge, Miss Blades; Symonds Street and Khyber Pass, Miss Willoughby and Mrs Daw; Pitt Street and Karangahape Road, Miss Filleul and Miss Carmichael; Newmarket, Mrs Russell and Mrs Cor-bett-Scott; Parnell, Mrs Rattray; Ponsonby, Mrs Bedford and Girl Scouts; Renraera, Mrs Duncan; Northcote, Mies Carter; Takapuna, Mts Gorrie. Several other poste are yet to be allotted. AH others willing to assist are requested to leave their names with the secretary, Mrs Rattray, 38, His Majesty's Arcade. Donations will be gladly received at the same office.
