the ketch fSir George has been Avreck«t near Port Macquarie. Two of the crew were drowned, but the remainder are safe.
the Sir George, a wooden vessel of j* tons, and belonging to Messrs. John Aboard and Son, of Sydney, was timber JMen from Port Macquarie. to Sydney. A gale drove her to tbe north, and when on knioky Cape lighthouse a heavy sea s "'Uck her, and carried away the rudW * h _ el > and bulwarks. Captain Lind"g cr and two seamen, at the wheel, were washed overboard. The captain and one "■an, who were entangled in the wreck * e '. managed to get back on board ••Sam. Both were injured. The othei ™n was not seen again. Tbe captain "owid the injured man to a davit, but subsequently heaving seas breaking ™°ard washed him overboard. The ketch oecame unmanageable and drifted on ™ c rocks a mile from the lighthouse ne captain was twice again washed overboard, and the last time landed on £? r °? ks and was rescued by tbe light-"ouse-keepers, who also assisted with ° eat danger in rescuing the three othei JJ ,en comprising tlie crew, after five ■°urs clinging to the' rigging.
