THE KARAMEA.
The s.s. Karamea arrived from London at. 2 a.m. to-day. The steamer was discharging explosives, amounting to Wi tons, to-day, "and will probably berth at the Queen-street wharf this afternoon. She has 4152 tons of general merchandise to laud here, and will probably remain in port for about a week. There has been no change made in the personnel of her officers, with the exception of Mr Perrimiin, who is now second, and Mr Boddington, who has been appointed fourth officer. The second officer reports that the Karamea left Loudon on August 14th. and had heavy weather down the Channel and across the Bay of Biscay, fine weather being thence experienced. Teneriffe was passed on August 22nd. and the line was crossed in long. 13 west on the 28th. Strong breezes and heavy head seas were experienced from the 29th to arrival at St. Helena on September 2nd. Left there on (lie 3rd, and had line weather to the Cape of Good Hope, which was passed on the 10th. followed by line weather across lo Auckland. Cape Maria Van Diemen being passed at 0.30 a.m. yesterday.
