THE LATE CAPTAIN DALDY

The funeral'of the late Captain Dalcly, which was proceeding this afternoon, was attended by a group of old identities, including Sir John Logan Campbell, Mr H. M. Warner (Auckland a oldest citizen), Messrs llobt. Bartley, Edward Waite, G. W. Binney, Francis Cherry, Samuel Vaile. etc., besides a large number of other well-known citizens, the trustees and boys of the Costley Institute, the Rev- Mr Eraser (Edendale I resbyterian Church), the directors and manager of the South British Insurance Company, directors and manager of the Auckland Savings Bank, representatives of the Leyland O'Brien Timber Co., etc. The chief mourners were Mr C. Daldy (son), Miss Daldy (daughter), Messrs W. E. and E. Wrigley (grandsons), Misses Wrigley (grandaughters), Miss Donnelly, and Mr J- HamertonThe officiating ministers! were the Revs. J. Wilkins, A. J Lee and W. Day. The funeral procession reached the Beresford-street Congregational Church at about 2.30, by which hour the church was nearly full. The service was opened by the singing of the impressive hymn, "When the Day of Toil is Done," and the other portions of the service were of an appropriate character. The cortege afterwards proceeded to Purewa, where amid abundant evidence of sympathy and respect the sad ceremony was concluded.
