ROAD BOARD MEETING.
At the ordinary meeting of the Mount Eden Road Board.Mr. R. Udy presided. The Lighting Committee were empowered to obtain tenders for lamps, and to report at next meeting. Petitions and letters from ratepayers for ; certain works were read, but in the present, state of the Board's finances they could not be entertained. The Board resolved to strike a rate of three farthings in the £, for general purposes, at their next ordinary meeting; also a rate for lighting purposes of .three-eighth's, of a penny in the £, The Board balances were reported to be as follows: General ac/eoxmt, dr., £410 14/1; loan rate account, cr.,£295 2/1; water account, cr,, £86 13/3."
