The North Shore Sailing Club' will hold their annual social next a Friday evening in the Foresters' Hall, Devonport. A special feature will be some 50 or 60 views of local yachts and yachting rendezvous shown by a powerful- lantern. '

A farce "entitled "Declined With Thanks " which ended the programme was also a great success, the characters being taken by Misses Martin, Cooper and Spargo, and Messrs Saunders (stage manager), Adye, Leaning1, Taunton, and Mirfin. ,

An inquest on a man named John Dunnet, who was found. dead in hi 3 dwelling- yesterday, was held to-day, by Dr. McArthur, coroner, at,the Star Hotel, Nevrton. Dr. King deposed that deceased died"from" exposure and'Selfneglect. ' Mrs Sharp and Mr , Smith-; , also gave evidence. Deceased l was -a single man-and lived alone. . As will (be seen by advertisement in another part of this issue, the second meeting of the N.Z. Inanimate JPigepni Shooting, Association will be held >t their grounds, Epsom, next Saturday. Shooting will commence at 10 aim., with a handicap sweepstake, which will be followed by the teams' competition for the Colonial Ammunition Co.'a trophy. Six teams from various. Clubs have already been entered, and, as these comprise some of the best shots in the district, it is expected that some really good shooting will eventuate.,

The annexe recently made at the grounds by the Northern Gun Club has proved of great service as a means of shelter to shooters and their friends. The grounds have also undergone a thorough overhaul and the trap screens lowered, which will be a very great improvement. Given fine weather 6n Saturday the meeting promises to be a most successful one.
