KAURI GUM MARKET.
AUCKLAND, Wednesday.
The market for kauri gum showed an easier tendency this week as far as poorer grades of gum were concerned. Stocks of low grade having accumulated in London there is less disposition to buy for export. borne very low quality East Coast gum is now "being offered at a concession. Better grades of gum are still difficult to obtain, consequently prices for those lines remain firm. The Charles G Rice commences loading1 gum iov New York next week, but as her cargo is ready this will not import any activity into the market.
Quotations are as follow-/: — Poor ordinary: £35 to £42 Fair ordinary £45 to £oO Good ordinary £53 to £f>2 Superior ordinary £ TO to £80 East Coast (good) £80 upwards
