YOUTHFUL DEPRAVITY AND SECULAR EDUCATION.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—A very few words will be ample, reply to your correspondent "Secularist.", Only continue to shut the Bible out of- tha public educational system, and we shall see an increase of the evils we are al-, .:. ready' complaining, of, viz., untruthful- : ness wholesale, rude manners, an ugly boldness, fastness, lack of reverence, no fear of either God or man (excepting only the man in blue), foul speech, ignorance, of vital truths, darkness of conscience, voidness of principle, dishonesty, in various forms, burglary, etc., etc. Only do not express surprise at such or similar results. From editors downwards, none need express surprise, for it is only just ;..., what our farmers know all about, viz., ■■- sowing and reaping. The infallible Book / declares: "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path," and this' has a universal application to the young and to the old. Secularism is darkness.— I am, etc., ~ N.Z.
