No. 4 lode north is divided by a band ■of country rock two feet wide, and IS inches of the hanging wall gives a fair '. show of free gold in the face, the best ! that the manager has seen in this section of the mine. The footwall, which is three feet thick, is poor in value, but : the general character of the ore is I kindly, and when both portions join ' better stone should be met with. The main cross-cut is in 768 feet. HAURAKI NO. 2. There is an improvement in the face of the drive. The leader is eight inches I at the top of the drive, and four inehe3 at the bottom, and is very promising looking stone for gold.
