LIBERAL AND LABOUR FEDERATION.
A preliminary meeting took place last night in the Cook-street Hall to form an Auckland electoral branch of the Liberal,and Labour Federation ot New Zealand. There was a. large attendance present. Dr. McArthur was voted to the chair. He expressed his pleasure at seeing such a number present, which he took to mean that there was need for the establishment in Auckland of a branch of the Liberal Federation. An Executive and Council were elected provisionally to prepare •business for the next meeting, when a. permanent Executive will be elected. Dr. McArthur was chosen as presurant, Mr H. Wilding, vice-president, Air L. Grant treasurer, and Mr P. P. Blackmore secretary. The provisional Executive and Council were elected a committee to examine the rules and by-laws and report to the general
meeting.
