WEST COAST RAILWAY.

At a meeting of the joint committee of th Chamber of Commerce and Industrial A 6 sociation last night, it was resolved" " That this conference is of opinion th the delay in the completion of the W Coast Railway is very unsatisfactory • th as the Government has proceeded with ft construction from Jackson's, and the \xt land Railway Company has recognised th action of the Government and° paid th cost of such construction, this confereu urges that the work should proceed m 2 " more rapidly than at present from Otaranf as well as from Jackson's." The confe7 ence decided to forward the resolution t all members of both Houses, and to aslr the Christ-church members to call ameetfo of all members interested. It was also decided to ask the co-operation of ft Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association and Railway League.
