An inquest was held ab Mr Whibford'a, Maraetai, on Thursday last, before Mr J. 6. Irvine, J.P., to inquire into the circumstances surrounding tbe death ot Albert Whitford, aged one year and nine months. A verdict of accidentally drowned,' was returned. The evidence adduced showed that the child was playing with other children of the family in a creek near their house when he fell in.
