H.M.S. RAPID.
The British screw cruiser Rapid arrived in porb at 7.30 o'clock thia morning from Sydney, and took up an anchorage at the man-o'-war ground. Sho left Sydney April 13bh, and camo across under easy steam. Lighb head winds and head swell prevailed on the trip over. Ib is now slightly more than three years since the Rapid was last in Auckland harbour, during which time she has been recommissioned, bsjing now in charge of Sir Henry Ogle, who has under him the following officers : — Messrs Martin, Bolton and Hatchard, Lieutenants; Mr Alton, Paymaster; Mr Chapman, Chief Engineer ; Dr. Sparrow, Surgeon. The Rapid will awaib here the arrival of the flagship Orlando, which is expected to leave Sydney for Auckland on the 28th of this month. Ibis then probable that sho will proceed to the Soubh Sea Islands.
