An Obstreperous Bull.

Not long ago some of the principal streets ot Naples were turned topsy-turvy by the escape of a white bull from a herd that had just been landed at the port. The animal for some time dragged with ib a courageous tram conductor, who held the rope hanging to its horns until he was fairly tired out. The police fired revolvers at the animal, and so did several gentlemen from their gigs and carriages. A policeman succeeded in wounding the beast, upon which it turned and tossed him. He was only slightly bruised. 4 ,The bull, , says the 'Daily News' correspondent, 'hadreached Via Carracciola when I happened to drive that way. Though it seomed to run quite coolly and elowly, ib had distanced most] of its pursuers., even those in gigs, during the miie and a half ib bad run. A policeman was almosb alongside, and fired shot after shot seemingly with no effect, and to the gieat peril of innocent passers-by. Indeed, as the bull reached the Via,' ib wounded a man in the side,, and a shot again fired at it hit an unfortunate mbmber of the municipal band, who wassibbing at the Cafe di Napoli withhia three children. He was severely wounded. Soon after a certain Baron Cuodie headed the bull by taking a shorter cut through a by street, and succeeded in shooting it in the head. The animal had traversed the whole coast line of'the city from east to west. Had it been the hour of the promenade on Via Carracciola there would no doubt have been many victims- As ib was, the policeman's revolver did move harm than the bull. .
