THE PORTUGUESE INSULTS
London, December 4. It appears that Colonel Andrade, ■with 300 armed Portuguese, lowered the British flag. The African Company's jxjlice captured and disarmed these Portuguese. Andrade, who is still in custody, is anxious to arrange terms with the officers of the Company. Anothur armed party of the Portuguese compelled a native chief to hoist the Portuguese flag in British territory.
