The Sub-Committee appointed by the City Council to arrange for the recption of His Excellency the Governor, have directed the City Surveyor to proceed with the erection of a graceful arch between the Thames and Waitemata Hotels, and to decorate it with flowers, evergreens, etc. It is thought that contributions of flowers will be made by the citizens if the thing is just suggested, and therefore Mr Anderson will be very happy to receive on Friday morning any floral donations which may be forthesming. A platform with protecting barriers will he erected at the entrance to the wharf. The Artillery Volunteers will announce the time of His Excellency's landing by tiring three guns a couple of hours boforehand, while in order to lend tSclat to the proceedings a |half holiday will be declared.
A youthful elder of the Mormon community residing near Timaru has had a vision. He says he has seen the Divine Being and the Mormon apostle Bri/jhom Young. During the interview he was commissioned to call all the Saints together and to communicate to them certain instructions revealed to himself.
