NOMINATION OF COUNCILLORS.
BOROUGH OF PARXELI.
Tun nomination of candidates for the office of Councillors for the Borough of Parnell took place this morning. Nominations were received from about 10 o'clock a.ru. until the usual hour. There was not much excitement, until tne twelfth hour. Avhen the twelve nominations received by the Returning Officer were scrutinised and checked by ai« of the rate roll, which latter had to be signed by the Town Clerk before It Avas accepted by the Returning Officer. Twelve candidates were nominated: of these four were disqualified—Messrs. Kaynes and Auger not being on the roll; while the signatures of Mr. Gilbert, attached t« the nomination papers of Mr. Wink* and Mr. Caleb Wood, disqualified. both of these candidate?;, as Mr. Gilbert's name is not on the roll. The following is the list, of candidates' names proposed and seconded and declared duly elected by the Returning Officer, Major Green :— G. M. Mitford ; proposed by \V. Coleman, seconded by R. Ellcy.
