A CCIDENT.
At one o'clock this morning an accident, apparently the result of gross carelessness, occurred iii Queen-stree,t which might have been attended with serious results. It appears that a cab was being driven along on the proper side of the street past the Greyhound Hotel by a driver named Trevcna, when another driven by a person named Codd, was proceeding in a contrary direction at a rapid pace. Trevena, we are informed, drew his cab close in to the footpath to allow the other the full width of the roadway for passin" ; but; notwithstanding, this Cobb's cab dashed right into it, knocking Trevena'scab over on the footpath, smashing tho driving box away, and precipitating Trevena to the ground, passing with both wheels over his \e."3. Both cli ivers are considerably liurc. A summons having been taken out this morning against Codd, the facts of the case will form the subject of investigation in the Police Court on Saturday.
