Wednesday afternoon
At Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co.'s sale of groceries, oilmen's stores, _c, this day, the attendance was very numerous, but the bidding very dull, owing to the glutted state of the market, very little being quitted. The following prices were obtained :—American brooms, 255; Lea and Perrius' sauces, 12s 9d ; half-pints salad oil, 7s 3d ; Morton's pickles, 12s ; sago, 3^d ; Scores' -washing crys tals, 7s per gross; maizena, 5-jd to 5Jd; guava jelly, 20i 6d ; soda crystals, 5s 9d per cwt. ; bottled lime juice (English) lis 6d per dozen ; Allsop's ale, 5s 6d per dozen ; Bass's ale, in bond, 7s 3d ; almonds, 8d ; wines and spirits, no offer.
