Friday afternoon. L. D. Nathan and Co. held a sale of tobacco, cigars, at their mart, to-day. There was a good attendance, and the bidding was spirited. The following were the prices realised :— Havannah-shape Manillas, 67s 6d ; cheroots no offer. Tobacco—Knickerbocker 10's, 9|d to 94d ; Milner's 10's, 9£d to 9d per lb.; Venus 10's, Is Bid. Sovereign vestas, 250's, 20s per gross.
Mb. Mahtin Shotj. s Shabe Refobt. — Bank of New Zealand shares Jmve been in demand at £14 5s ; insurance at £21; in mining companies there have been sales of Long Drives at £1115s,- Shotovers at 10s 6d, 10s, and some at 9s 3d, sales have been made today at 9s 6d, tendency upward; Caledonians have been sold at £12, cum dividend ; Waitematas are offered at ss; Long Drives at £12 ; Caledonians at £11 10s ; demand for All Nations, Shotovers, and Long Drives.
