THE ELEPHANT.
Unusual excitement was manifested this morning in the neighbourhood of the wharf, at Lower Queen-street, by the appearance of a denizen of Indian jungles, mounted by a marine, and proceeding leisurely towards his temporary residence iv the Albert Barracks. The occasion was too good for Jack to miss for his jokes, and the variety of nautical commands given to the uncouth animal, and the prompt obedience rendered, gave illimitable amusement to the spectators. The animal, which is a very beautiful specimen, can be seen by all interested in the sight during his residence at the barracks.
