WHITIORA THREATENS THE PEACE
[FEOM THE "HEBAXD'S" COBBKBPOXDIHT.]
ALEXANDRA
Sunday, 5.10 p.m. Yestekday, Mr. Frissell, the surveyor, went out with an armed party and brought away from Pirongia all the articles left at his late camp. The circumstance proves that the natives had not visited the place in the interim. Whitiora wrote to Manuhiri informing him that he had sent out and murdered Mr. Todd, and thus opened the ball, and asking him to, him help from Tokangamutu, to enable him to carry on the work so well begun, vianuhiri replied that he had informed the Government that the sword was sheathed, and that he would not break faith to assist him. Whitiora also wrote to Tapihana of Kawhia for assistance in carrying out his plans. The murderers were from Hauturu, Whitiora's residence.
