The s.s. Stormbird, Captain Doile, arrived in the Manukau yesterday. She left Wellington on the 22nd instant, at 3 p.m. ; arrived at Wanganui on the 23rd, at 7 a.m.; left at 9 a.ra. on the 25th, with strong N.W. winds, and arrived at Taranaki at 4 a.m. on the 26th ; left again at 3 p.m , and arrived in the Manukau at 7.30 a.m. yesterday. The clipper barque Novelty, Captain J. Nearing, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, after a fair passage from Sydney of 13 days. She brings 12 passengers.and.a.full cargo, principally sugar and maize. The Novelty left Sydney on the morning of the 14th instant, and experienced northerly and easterly winds across, making the Kings on Wednesday. Since then light head winds have prevailed.
