VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
PRIZE FIRING-.
Yesterday was the first, day of the prize firing for the beautiful silver vase presented to the Auckland Rifle Volunteers by Dr. Campbell and the small money prizes. Sixty-one Volunteers were on the ground, under the command of Captain Derroin. The men wero on the ground by niue oV.ock. The following officers were present: —Lieuteuauts Matthews and Burns, Ensign-Harrison, Serjeant Bullock, and Sergeant Major Haslam ot the permanent staff. The firing was -concluded at the first three ranges —the 500 and 600 yards ranges will be contested to-day, when the firing, will be concluded. The following is the score :— f |
