TELEGRAPH TO TAURANGA
Some of the natives a't'Orak'e'i'Kb'r'akb', liave been opposing the progress of the telegraph line to Tauranga, and they thus vexationsly delayed the works, despite the fact that all the other natives were strongly in favor of the .Jina~.being proceeded with. We are glad to learn- now, that on the 15th instant, official intelligence was received at Wellington from Taupo that all opposition on the part of the natives at Orakei Korako has ceased, and they say, " Tlie works are to proceed." The sUti n at. Taui-anga ,is ready to receive the instruments, arfd 'tli'e i-emaining constructive work is being pushed on rapidly.
