INQUEST AT OTAHUHU.
Ak inquest was held at Otalutliu,.ionthe 13th, on the body of John Pennington, the death of whom, by tho upsetting of his dray, we mentioned a day or two ago. A laborer named Collins,' residing in- Auckland, and who wa3 riding in a dray attached to the one deceased was driving, described the accident of the dray's capsizing. He. slipped out behind and saw Pennington crushed by his dray^ ■ ,Deceased • yraa; laid- down ■ asleep, ;and was perfectly sober, but had not the reins in his hands. Another laborer, named Dennis, deposed-iio; extrickbiiig: tihe'*b6dy'*fi'om'underneath the dray ; one horae.was killed. John Hamilton, the employer of deceased, deposed, to his having been a careful man, generally, and to the plaeo'of the accident ;being soniewhat dangerous.
