GENERAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTES.
In a Gazette of the 29th ultimo appear statements of affairs of mining companies, and an alphabetical list of bankrupts throughout the colony during the past Year (a mo*t interesting study, and extending over thirty pages). In"a Gazette of the 6th instant, the Assembly is further prorogued to the lOfch November. By a Gazdte of the llfch instant, J. T. Pain is appointed Registrar of Births, Marriages, and Deaths, for Waimate : letters patent are granted to E. Gibbons and Co., of Onehunga, for an invention in flax .machinery ; a Divorce Court is to be held at Wellington in the 2nd week in January next;- John Charles Young, of Grahamstown, C. O. B. Davis, J. W. Preece, C. Maxwell, E. Hammond, John While, and J. Mackay, jun., of Auckland, Geo. Kelly, of Blongonui, j. Gk Johnson, of Wangarei", fu-id W. P. Kemp, of Bay of Islands, are authorised native interpreters. The lists of prizes for the colonial firing, to take place at Auckland during March, 1871, are published,, together with the rules for choice of district representatives.
