ACCLIMATIZATION SOCIETY. By the arrival of the steamer Hero tliis morning, the horticultural stock of the above society has been considerably augmented in the shape of a very choice consignment of foreign and other plants, re eived by Mr. John Copland, from Dr. Mueller, of the Botanical hardens, Melbourne, and presented by him (Mr. Copland) to the above Society. The plants, of which .ire given the names below, have arrived in splendid condition, no doubt owing to the great care and attention bestowed on them by Mr. Copland and the officer., of the ship. This little souvenir, coming as it does from one of our old and respected colonists, speaks well for Auckland, and we certainly thine that the Society, at their next meeting, can searccly do less than pass a cordial vote of thanks to Mr. Copland for his valuable gift. The following is a list of the plants :—" Chinese Tea," "White Oak," "South Europe Juniper," "Californian Curly Fir," "Tall Californian Fir," " Tall Californian Cypress," " North American Chesnut Oak," " Tall Mexican Cypress," " Californian Feathering Cypress," " Canadian Hemlock," " Assam Tea," " Chili Pine," " South Balsam Fir," " Black American Walnut," " Cork Oak," " Sinking Pine of California," "Dwarf Californian Cypress," " Peruvian Bark Tree," and " South African Cypress."
