Tuesday afternoon
Mr. G. W. Binney held, to-day, a very large sale of grain to hand from the South by tiie following vessels : —Nil Desperandum, from Ljttelton ; Wave, from Oamaru ; Agnes and Jessie, from Lyttelton, and Dimedin from Oamaru. There was a good attendance, but buyers held back, in consequence of the numbers of late arrivals .with grain. Wheat brought 5s 6d to 5s lid ; barley, 3s ; bran, Is Id ; potatoes, £5 per ton. Abou v- 70 tons of flour from Oamaru, and 60 ditto ditto from Lyttelton were quitted at prices varying from £14 5s to £14 15s.
The clearing-out sale at the Staffordshire warehouse by Mr. George Sibbin \va3 being proceeded with at the time of our going to press.
