G-bahamstown, 2.30 p.m. At the Police Court this morning, George Wilson, charged With escaping from prison, at Shortland, has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment: The prisoners Escallion, Kakias, on remand, were again brought up at the Court this morning, charged with stabbing John Williams. Escallion was committed to take his trial at the next sitting of the ISupreme Court, and Kakias was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment. Messrs. Small and Curtis have gone to Porter's Creek to bring over the Maori gorilla, of which there has been so much talk lately. Intelligence has been received of the surrender of 35 Hauhaus at Whakatana on Wednesday evening last.
