CRUEL PERSECUTION.
Constantinople, June Ist. —The fearful vindictiveness of the native Christians in Roumania, against the Jewish population, culminated on Sunday, in the wholesale butchery of Jews. Thousands of men, women and children were dragged from their homes and slaughtered. The work of slaughter goes on in the interior. The authorities have mad« no move to check it. The Christians took advantage of the absence of tho reigning Prince Charles, and, at a preconcerted signal, began the extermination of their helpless victims. — Neivs of the World.
