ARREST UNDER THE ARMS ACT.
WHOLESALE ROBBERY.
At the Thames Police Court yesterday William Fagg was. charged by Inspector Thompson with feloniously selling one neddle-gun, one machine for the manufacture of cartridges, and a quantity of ammunition, to one Makekane, a native. Mr. Miller appeared for the accused! Inspector Thompson applied for a re! mand, and stated he would be iv a position to prove that not only was the gun sold, but that several others were sold by defendant at different times. Mr. Miller had no objection, as he would have had to apply for a remand himself if Mr. Thompson had not done so. The defen! dant was remanded for seven days. Mr. Miller asked to have the prisoner admitted to bail, but this the Court refused, in consideration of the serious nature of the charge. James Forster, Daniel Sutherland, and Thomas Stern, were brought up on remand to answer to a charge of breaking into and entering the shop of John Warmoll at Grahamstown, and stealing therefrom a quantity of clothing, to the value of £2§Q, Mr. Warmoll and Robert Jennings, salesman, gave evidence in the case, which was not concluded when the evening payer went to press.
