INJURY TO RAILWAY LINE.
In addition to the above disasters, I have 'ust heard that so-ne two or three miles of the i railway line at Dangar's Flat, near Sinsleton, j hns been washed «way, and that communication with that town by rail is likely to. be I intprruptsd for fully a fortnight in convpavievice. As yet the line is all right between ; f ier e aud East Maitland, but with the [ r j Tcl . neai'ly thirty-four feet high at West I Maitland, it is impossible for it to remain so j long. It wiN probably be impassable before night. The condi'ion of seme of the people ori the low lands is rery critical, but I believe lam right in saying ample provision by means of boats has Keen made for their safety- I shall probably proceed to Maitland by the next train, and if so, I shall advise you by telegraph of any new disasters.
