PORT OF AUCKLAND.
ARRIVALS
Leonidas, schooner, 79 tons, Norris, from Bay of Islands. Speedwell, ketch, 35 tons, Bewicke, from Wangaroa. Eagle, ketch, 42 tons, Loverock, from Na pier, with 70 bales flax.
The ketch Speedwell from Wangaroa brings 12,000 feet baidk timber, 10,000 shingles, and some produce. Passengers—Captain Adams, and two others. . Eagle.—The ketch Eagle, Captain Loverock, arrived in harbour on Sunday, from Napier, which port she left on the 4th instant. She experience? strong southerly winds to the East Cape ; thence S.W. winds across Bay of Plenty, and since then notherly winds. During a strong breeze the Eagle carried away her staysail and mizensail. Cargo:—7o bales flax, J. S. Macfarlane. The Circular Saw Co.'s ss. Lord Ashley, Captain Wheeler, wfll saU for Nelson, Taranaki, and Manukau on or about Saturday, the 9th inst. An official trip will take place on i Friday.— Wellington Independent, April 5. j H.M.S. ChaUenger is said to be waiting a change of w,ind toprooeed to the South under pail. She will be absent for a fortnight, and wiU then remain here until the arrival, of the next English.mail.— lbid. . -
