Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son held a sale of property at their mart to-day, which was numerously attended. The bidding, however, was -hii'lc. lllotments 125 and 127, in the Parish of Pukekura, Waikato, brought ss. 6d. an acre ; allotment 46, at Whangamarinb, 2s 3d; lot 117, Waiwera, 2s Od j4O acres at Puhoi, at 2s per acre ; find several allotments at Pokeno brought 15s. Several other properties were offered, but were not sold. Mr. G. W. Bmney sold by auction, this afternoon, the family residence of Mr. John French, College-street, for the. sum of i.175, subjec. to a mortgago of £200.
