AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Friday, May 18, 1878. (Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.) BEECHER V. HOUGHTON. To recover the sum of £2 13s 6d, No appearance of defendant. Judgment, by default, for amount claimed with costs. WOOD BROS. AND CO. V. HOUGHTON To recover the sum of £16 19s 3d. No appearance of defendant. Judgment, by default, for amount claimed with costs. ADAMS V. MALONEY. Defendant appeared on a judgment summons to show cause why a judgment, amounting to £9 16s 6d had not been satisfied. Defendant offered to pay £2 per month in liquidation of the debt. The Bench made an order for defendant to pay £2 on May 22, and the balance in monthly instalments of £2, or in default, .one month's imprisonment. The Court then adjourned.
