BOWLING.
The Jolly Cup was successfully defended against a Cromwell rink on Saturday. A good game was played but the holders were too steady for the visitors, who only scored in six heads. The final scoie was 27 to 13. The Cromwell team was D., N., L. and E. Jolly. The defenders were W. Hesson, 0. Lewis, W. Black and W. Hewitt. The next challenge from Clyde (H. Stevens), is to be played on Saturday. It was intended to visit Naseby and Ranfurly on Saturday but this trip is now postponed to the 21st. The Handicap Singles are progressing favourably. Second round: Hodgson beat Smith, Harley beat Lewis, Burgess beat Jack, Stewart beat Nind, Simcoe beat Lunn. Third Round : Lewis beat Smith, Hewitt beat Campbell. To play : Hodgson v. Harley, Burgess v. Stewart, Simcoe v. O'Kane.
