ASHBURTON YARDS—THIS DAY
There was a moderate attendance at the Ashburton yards to-day. * Th,e entry of fat sheep was about the usual, and there was a marked improvement in the quality. The freezing buyers operated freely, and prices all round were on a 1 par with those lately ruling. Extra prime heavy lambs realised up to 325, and ordinary prime from 28s lid to 31s lOd. down to 25s 6d for smaller sorts. ■; ■ ■■':■■■ The best heavy wethers brought, up to 38s 6<L ordinary quality averaging from 30s 3d to 36s lOd, down to 24s for smaller and unfinished. ;' '" ■' •
Ordinary prime ewes sold at prices ranging from 26s to 33s lOd, extra quality realising up to 34s sd.
